Regensburg:

Local spelling:

Regensburg

Regensburg, already established in Celtic times, was later the northern most outpost of the Roman Empire in Bavaria and is one of Germany’s oldest towns. As this city received only minimal destruction during world War II it even contains a few left over structural parts going back to Roman times.

The old town is an UNESCO World Heritage site.

If you are lucky enough to be there and are able to attend a concert of the Regensburger Domspatzen, the world renowned boy choir, we recommend not to miss it.

There are 4 separate Christmas markets in the city during Advent.

Also worth mentioning is the historic Sausage kitchen/Restaurant  the “Wurschtkuchl” right at the banks of the River Danube.
